Thank your God you are not on a US campus. UW-WI in Madison just had a teach-in telling us that the Taliban is good for Afghanistan and really not that bad for women. After all, the professor of sociology said, it is worse for women in Saudi Arabia. Some jerk sociologist who keeps his job by being “progressive” telling us it is cool to sell out women’s rights because they really enjoy their “own” culture and do not want equal rights.

Thank you for everything you do to help those people. There are many in the US who respect the work you do.

Blue, can I infer from your article that the Zabul ANSF didn’t like Hoh? Hoh attacked the Zabul ANSF. Hoh also appeared on Fareed Zakaria’s hourly sunday program today.

Any perspectives on how the Romanians did in Zabul? Zabul PRT? Zabul OMLTs (now OMLTs + ETTs)? Zabul ANA? Zabul ANP? Zabul provincial council/governor? Zabul District subgovernors/councils? There is a dearth of good public source information on Zabul.

non US ISAF advisors are called OMLTs. Are any US ISAF advisors also called OMLTs? (Most US advisors and all OEF-Afghanistan advisors are ETTs, PTTs, MTTs.) I think it might be politically well received by the ISAF contributing countries if McChrystal changed the names of some MTTs/ETTs/PTTs to “OMLT.”

Hoh’s situation smelled fishy from the git go. Screw ‘im.

I too have looked into volunteering at USAID, in order to go to A-Stan and help. No volunteers accepted. I have 30+ years of experience in construction, from residential to industrial. There is no doubt in my military mind that I could effectively oversee construction projects – I’ve done it in the third world, too. But … no volunteers, thank you very much. And I’d do it for room and board and $2k a month. I bet Hoh was getting a whole lot more than that.

This seems really unwise, but that appears to be SOP for much of States activity. Because I know that I’m not alone in trying to volunteer, a significant pool of assets goes unused.

Another great post, Blue. You should submit this to FOX News or get it out to the public, becasue no one is hearing that side of the asshole. I didn’t feel good about the situation just watching him on TV. Whimpy little shit was my first thought.
