That is just too funny, but a well deserved smackdown!

I’d hate to think that I/we had anything to do with the Brits getting stuck with him, even in the fashion column.

I had never heard of this situation – pretty interesting. I am a small-town community journalist who happens to be a contractor for an Army newspaper. I’m always interested in situations like these, which personally I could never handle, and what it is that makes Soldiers so angry about journalists when they return from deployment. What else can you tell me about this?

Melissa, for background on the affir Meo, just Google “nick meo and bloggers” without the quotes. Basically the man wrote a cowardly story. While an American Soldier died, Nick Meo lied.

  5. Rosemary says:

I wonder if this will make World News Tonight? lol

  6. Susan Katz Keating says:

Melissa, soldiers don’t have a problem with journalists who are fair and accurate. But when they make stuff up… that’s when the Pitchfork Brigade swings into action. Thanks for asking!

This is too funny! When I read this, I immediately thought of an email I had sent to Mao and his editor. Maybe they really read it! This is part of what I wrote….

“I hope the telegraph fires you for your frilly rendition of the events that night. I think you would be best suited for fictional writing. I suggest they do fire you, but you might be able to find work covering the fashion industry. You can make all the comments you want about hair and clothes. You no longer will have to fear for your life, except maybe death by a freak, random spiked heal impaling your head. Now that would be a good story.”

I know that was a little harsh, but it deserves what he got.

    Little sis
